Yamaha PSS-560/570

German Version

The PSS 560/570 has an excellent and flexible auto accompaniment section. Next to the dynamic and very flexible drum patterns, it has a realtime FM synthesizer with five 7-step slide controls. The synthesizer's scope of sound isn't as large as with the PSS-380/390, but the sounds can be incorporated into the auto accompaniment, revealing many new posibilities.

The FM synthesis chip architecture is also very open and can be crassly influenced. I've modified my PSS-560 as follows:

• "Chaos" pad consisting of 12 buttons and a reset button
• Mute switch for drums, bass, BD and SN

I often use this one, so I've got 3 sound examples for you: the first one is pure PSS-560, the others were recorded during 2 sessions with my Casio live project Monomal & Muttermahl.
